National Juried Photography Exhibit

The Delaplaine Art Center, 40 South Carroll St, Frederick, Maryland, announces the 2016 National Juried Photography Exhibit. All photographs, black and white, color, computer-manipulated are eligible.

About the juror: Leslie Wilson is a Twenty-Four-Month Chester Dale Predoctoral Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Art, National Gallery, Washington, DC.

A PhD candidate in the Department of Art History at The University of Chicago, her research focuses on photography’s use as a documentary medium and its relationship to art, reportage, and protest movements. Her dissertation, Past Black and White: the Color of South African Photography, 1994-2004, examines influential artists in South Africa’s first decade of democracy after the end of Apartheid. She has held curatorial internships at the Art Institute of Chicago, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and the St. Louis Art Museum.

Submission Deadline: Friday, September 30, 2016

Fee: $35 (non-member fee) per artist for up to three (3) images. $25 fee (per Delaplaine member artist) for up to 3 images. VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are accepted.
