The Byerly-Rothwell Photography Contest encourages individuals of all ages to discover the history of Frederick County through photography. Contest entries should depict an aspect of Frederick County, Maryland history or heritage. Subjects include, but are not limited to, historic structures, historical objects, places of historical significance, important events, notable individuals, and traditional activities.

-Contest entries must be received by September 30, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Museum of Frederick County History, 24 E. Church Street, Frederick. Entries are not accepted digitally.

CONTEST BRACKETS & AWARDS Three prizes may be awarded in each of the four categories.

PROFESSIONAL ~ First Prize—$100 • Second Prize—$75 • Third Prize—$50 ADULT AMATEUR ~ First Prize—$100 • Second Prize—$75 • Third Prize—$50 (age 18+ who have not earned a livelihood from photography)

SECONDARY STUDENT (ages 13-18) ~ First Prize—$75 • Second Prize—$50 • Third Prize—$25 PRIMARY STUDENT (under age 12) ~ First Prize—$75 • Second Prize—$50 • Third Prize—$25

BEST IN SHOW (awarded to overall top entry)—$150
