SE Center for Photography Greenville SC Open for entries

The SE Center is looking for portraits that go beyond the surface and explore or reveal a deeper vision of the subject, showing an environmental context, capturing a telling expression, or a magical vision that does not exist outside the mind of the artist.

Our Juror for The Intimate Portrait is Joyce Tenneson. Tenneson is internationally lauded as one of the leading photographers of her generation, Joyce Tenneson’s work has been published in books and major magazines, and exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide. Her portraits have appeared on covers for magazines such as: Time, Life, Newsweek, Premiere, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine.

35-40 Selected images will hang in the SE Center’s main gallery space for approximately one month with the opportunity to be invited for a solo show at a later date. Openings are timed to coincide with the Village of West Greenville, Greenville, South Carolina’s textile mill village turned arts district, First Fridays, a celebration of art, food and music. http://www.sec4p.com/calls/
