November 11 Workshop
7 pm in person only Gardiner Room, Delaplaine Visual Arts Center
The Light Painting workshop will feature indoor setups where we will use different tools to create images with abstract lighting.
There will be two different light painting setups for everyone to try. The first will be an area where we can light paint a model as well as create abstract light patterns without a model. The second will be a tabletop setup with a couple of different items that will be lit with light painting tools.
The leaders will have various light painting tools and props that will be used to create images. Just bring the following essential gear: --DLSR or Mirrorless body capable of using “bulb” mode. --A wide-mid length lens will work for most shots. A 24-70mm/24-120mm or something in this range will work. You may want a wider lens for the model/light pattern area. --Remote Trigger (If you have any spares, please bring in case someone needs one) --Tripod --Extra battery just in case! --Don’t forget a memory card (yes, it happens!)
We will be using “bulb” mode for the shots. Please research how that works on your camera body/remote trigger combo. You will be able to try being the light painter or model. If you want to try being a light painter, please wear very dark, preferably black, clothes. This is to keep you out of the shots.
This is a members-only workshop, but non-members are welcome to attend as observers.
